Older and disabled workers are covered by Health and Safety legislation and the Equality Bill (age and disability discrimination acts). To avoid criminal and civil proceedings being taken against theman employer must undertake a suitable risk assessment, the objective of which is to keep the worker safe and to identify any reasonable adjustments that need to be made. |

Report |
The report is comprehensive in covering, medical history, task, how the indvidual's disability impacts upon his or her work, analysis of the workstation and workplace, what reasonable adjustments need to be made under H&S legislation and what needs to be done to meet the disabled or age discrmination acts. |

We have also produced two essential handbooks 1) Risk assessments for disabled workers (a reference book on workplace accommodations by disability type used extensively by OH physcians) 2) Risk assessments for older and disabled workers We run numerous courses and seminars on this subject. Many organisations ie banks, service companies, County and Local councils and Governments have incorporated our tools and reference tools into their disability and aged management system and policies We acted as national advisor to the HSE and DRC on risk assessments for workers with special needs and are often asked to talk on this subject. |
